Traveling

How to Get to Scottsdale

When you come to Scottsdale, you may fly, drive or take the train in. If you take the train or fly, you will arrive in Phoenix; we will pick you up from the airport, and if within our hours from the bus terminal, but we do require that you stay in Scottsdale if we will be providing you with transportation.

Please note: If you choose to drive in or rent a car and are having surgery, we will require you to use our transportation service to the hospital the morning of your surgery.

There are three ways to travel to Phoenix:

By Air

If you choose to fly: You will need to arrive at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. The major carriers in Phoenix are America West Airlines and Southwest Airlines, but if you prefer another you may fly with any airline you like. As of Sept. 2, 2003, there are 17 U.S. carriers offering domestic (and sometimes international) service in and out of Sky Harbor:

And as of Sept. 2, 2003, there are four international airlines offering service to and from Sky Harbor:

If you notify us in advance, we provide a transportation service which can pick you up from the airport and take you to your hotel (provided you are staying in Scottsdale).

By Train

If you choose to arrive by train: Unfortunately, Amtrak train service no longer passes directly through Phoenix, due to a complication with the freight lines it was using previously. There is a stop in Maricopa, Ariz., on the Texas Eagle line, but there are no services available to take you from the train stop to the greater Valley area. As a result, your two best choices if you prefer to take the train are:

We do have a transportation service which we provide for our patients, and if you notify us in advance we can pick you up from the bus terminal. However, we do require that you stay in Scottsdale to utilize this service. We are unable to provide transportation to you if you take the train from Flagstaff, due to its arrival time.

By Car

If you choose to arrive by car: You will want to check a current highway map (AAA's are excellent) or Mapquest to plan your route. The descriptions below are general directions of travel. We also have specific directions from these points to our office.

We will, of course, transport you to and from the hospital if you are traveling alone, even if you have a car, or to our office if you will be having surgery in our office.
